A horrific accident killed a transport worker when a railway maintenance vehicle rolled over him on Thursday night.
Yahoo News reports that the victim was working on site at the Wellington Street tunnel when the incident happened at around 9.30pm.
According to the police, faulty positioning of the vehicle on the tracks may have caused it to roll and hit the victim. It is said that the manual breaking system has also failed.
The worker died on the scene. The construction company which employed the worker said that it is conducting its own investigation on the incident and is providing all possible support to the family of the deceased worker.
WA police is preparing a report for coroner. ComCare will also conduct an investigation on the incident.
