Slips, trips and falls are some of the main causes of workplace accidents. According to Comcare, workers’ compensation claims with a date of injury in three financial years show that slips, trips and falls of a person accounted for nearly 17 percent of all accepted claims and more than 37 million in direct costs to employers during a three year period. During the same period, approximately 1 in every 266 employees in the Comcare scheme was injured as a result of a slip, trip or fall.
Tensator, a UK-based company invented Tensabarrier – one of the safest barriers on the market which has a patented braking system that slows the retraction of the webbing. This technology eliminates the risk of an accident within your queue. Tensabarrier features an anti-tamper tape which means that button has to be pressed before the tape can be released and connected to the post.
The retractable post is now being used as a common fixture in many international airport terminals, financial and retail environments, and in different workplaces around the world.
More information about Tensabarrier can be found on the Tensator website.
