A 43-year old man working at the port of Brisbane was killed after being crushed by a crane.

Emergency services were called to the scene just at 11.40pm (AEST) on Tuesday, but the man had already died.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not revealed the man’s identity yet.

Police will prepare an occupational health and safety report for the coroner.

The incident follows a death of a port worker in December 2011 when he was crushed by a shipping container while transferring goods from a barge to a ship.
