The death of a farmer at Marabel, north of Adelaide, on August 30 is being investigated by SafeWork SA.
The 53-year-old man sustained fatal injuries after operating an air compressor in his own property.
SafeWork SA personnel went to the scene to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident and prepare a report for the Coroner.
Michele Patterson, SafeWork SA Executive Director, said the incident had shown the risks of working with machinery.
“We mustn’t forget that on farms, people frequently work with hazardous machinery, and it is vital that machinery is guarded to prevent access to moving parts, regularly maintained and inspected prior to use,” Ms. Patterson said.The death of a farmer at Marabel, north of Adelaide, on August 30 is being investigated by SafeWork SA.
