A quad bike incident in Queensland’s Southern Burnett region has left an eight-year old girl nursing serious injuries to her lower limbs.
The incident occurred on Saturday at Cherbourg, approximately 250 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after midday following reports a young female had been injured in a quad bike related incident.
She was treated at the scene before being taken to a local hospital.
Local police and fire crews attended the scene.
This latest incident is the third to happen in the past week. The first incident occurred last Sunday in northeast Victoria where a woman was taken to hospital with serious facial and back injuries after she struck a mound and came off her bike. According to reports, the woman was riding on long grass.
The second incident also involved a woman and occurred on Wednesday morning at a property in Bundaberg north. The woman suffered head injuries after a quad bike crash and was airlifted to hospital where her condition was said to be stable.
