A woman was trapped inside her car after it collided with a truck on Steve Irwin Way early Friday morning.
The 21 year-old female driver was said to have suffered from serious condition although her injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The driver of the truck on the other hand suffered from minor injuries. According to reports, the Toyota sedan collided with the quarry truck near the Mooloolah connection road, Glenview. The airbag of the car saved the female driver from more serious injuries after it deployed upon impact.
Police and Queensland Ambulance Service crews were immediately rushed to the scene and treated the woman. The trailer of the truck had knocked down some traffic lights in the area and blocked the highway causing heavy traffic delays.
