All is set for the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s gala awards event in October at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel in Perth.
The gala awards event recognizes outstanding contributions in environment, community partnerships and safety and health in Western Australia’s resources sector.
This will be the first time DMIRS will be presenting three separate awards for excellence at the 2017 Awards for Excellence event: The Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence, Community Partnership Award for outstanding partnerships between resources companies and the community they operate in, and the Safety and Health Resources Sector Awards, recognizing milestone contributions to safety and health across the resources sector.
The Safety and Health Resources Sector Awards received 25 nominations across three categories.
“The innovations we have seen are very interesting. While we are still going through the assessment process, we are looking forward to sharing some of these innovations with industry, helping to advance safety and health standards in our State’s resources sector,” said Executive Director Resources Safety Simon Ridge.
“Projects range from technological solutions for identified problems, improvements in efficiency, to processes that expand on the traditional occupational health and safety considerations for workers.”
Free presentations by selected nominees for the Golden Gecko, Community Partnership and Safety and Health awards will start at 2pm on Thursday, 26 October at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel, followed by the Awards Ceremony registrations and refreshments.
Tickets for the ceremony are $60 and can be booked online. Bookings close Thursday, 19 October.
