A man is in critical condition after two trucks figured in an incident on the Bruce Highway, north of Rockhampton early Friday morning.
According to reports, the north bound small truck clipped the semi-trailer at around 4:00 in the morning approximately 20 kilometres north of Marlborough. The incident caused significant damages to both vehicles.
A 32-year old man has to be extricated from the wreckage and was immediately airlifted by the RACQ Capricorn Rescue where he said to be in serious but stable condition. The man was said to have suffered from multiple head injuries, fractures and internal injuries. He was airlifted to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.
The driver of the other truck was also treated by emergency crews who were at the scene of the truck crash. He was said to have suffered from minor injuries.
Authorities have closed down the highway for several hours, clearing the area for any debris. Motorists are advised to take precautionary measures when traversing through the highway.
A team from the Forensic Crash Unit were also dispatched at the scene of the road crash and are trying to determine the cause of the incident.
