Safe Work Australia is encouraging everyone to be proactive in ensuring safety in the workplace by becoming a safety champion.
“Be a Safety Champion,” is this year’s theme for the National Safe Work Month.
“In October, we run public awareness initiatives on work health and safety and mental health,” said Safe Work Australia Chief Executive Officer Michelle Baxter.
“This year, we want to let everyone know that anyone can be a champion for work health and Safety. Anyone can Be a Safety Champion – workers, employers, and organisations, from any industry, can all champion work health and safety at their workplace every day.
“Being a leader for work health and safety and actively taking a role in supporting a strong health and safety culture is everyone’s business.”
In preparation for the National Safe Work Month 2019, Safe Work Australia will publish a range of resources on the National Safe Work Month website.
“Everyone can promote and mobilise the values, attitudes, and behaviours for work health and safety at any workplace in any industry,” said Ms. Baxter.
“This October, I encourage you all to Be a Safety Champion.”
