Man injured after falling into grain silo in New Zealand

A man has been flown to hospital after he fell into a grain silo in Balclutha, New Zealand.

The incident happened on Thursday morning.

Police and emergency services were called to a rural property on Hillend Rd shortly before midday following reports of a man trapped in a silo.

The man, aged in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital for treatment.

WorkSafe NZ will investigate the incident.
