All is set for the Department of Mines, Industry Regulations and Safety’s presentation of the Community Partnership Award and the Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence.

The Awards will be presented on Thursday, 22 August 2019 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Six finalists have been chosen for the Community Partnership Resources Sector Awards.

“The partnerships we have seen are very interesting,” said Executive Director of Resource Tenure, Rick Rogerson.

“As we go through the assessment process, we are looking forward to sharing these projects that are helping to build meaningful community partnerships in our State’s resources sector.

“Projects range from a pre-employment program that started in Broome, community programs in the Pilbara, Goldfields, Peel and South West regions, through to improving outcomes for young people on the Dampier Peninsula and Meekathara.”

The four eligible Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence entries cover renewable energy, recycling materials and research programs. The entries will be judged based on commitment to environmental excellence, demonstrated excellent environmental outcomes, community engagement, and innovation.

The event will start at 6pm and will be followed by networking and refreshments.

Tickets for the event can be booked online. Bookings close 5pm Thursday, 15 August.
