Man airlifted after two metre fall

A man suffered serious head and spinal injuries after he fell about two metres while working at a property in Rosedale, north of Bundaberg Thursday afternoon.

Ambulance paramedics stabilised the man, aged in his 30s, on the scene before the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted him to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment.

As at 31 May, 63 Australian workers have been killed at work in 2016, according to Safe Work Australia figures.

In 2015, 191 Australian workers died on the job.  The Agriculture, forestry & fishing workplaces had the highest number of workplace deaths (56), followed by Transport, postal & warehousing workplaces (53)
