According to reports, the truck was traversing from the Biloela concrete plant when it crashed which caused the death of its 63-year-old driver.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by the Monto Police, the driver may have lost control of truck when it drove through a gravel corner and hit the front of the bridge and then rolled over to the river bed. The driver was said to have died at the scene.

Rescuers had a hard time recovering the body of the driver due to the weight of the truck which was full of set concrete.
