Nominations for the 2019 WorkSafe Awards are closing soon.
The prestigious awards, now in their 31st year, close on Friday 31st May.
The awards honour those who make workplace health and safety a priority, those who improve the lives of injured workers, and injured workers who overcome challenges to return to work.
WorkSafe Chief Executive Clare Amies said the 2019 awards had already received strong interest. She said there was still time for Victorians who were considering nominating to get their entries in.
“Every year I am heartened by the passion and commitment shown by so many people to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees and workmates,” Ms Amies said.
“The WorkSafe Awards are designed to highlight the amazing work being done in the world of occupational health and safety, and to give deserving recognition to those who do everything they can to keep their workplaces safe.”
“I really encourage any employers and workers who have a positive story to tell to get their nominations in before May 31.”
Nominations are open to all Victorian-based employers and workers, and entrants may nominate themselves or another person. For the first time, a $2000 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of each category.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Melbourne on 31 October.
