Worker plunges to his death at Melbourne factory

An elderly man plunged four metres to his death Monday afternoon while working at a factory south east of Mebourne.

WorkSafe Victoria said the man in his 70s was working inside a makeshift cage attached to a forklift when the cage came off the forklift tines and fell to the ground.

The incident happened at a business on McNaughton Road, Clayton about 12.30pm.

The man died at the scene.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident.
