Transport workers dominate workplace death toll

SafeWork Australia has released the latest workplace fatality figures for 2018.

The figures show as at 2 March, there have been 19 Australian workers killed at work in 2018, with Transport, postal & warehousing workplaces emerging as the most fatal with 10 fatalities so far.

The Construction industry with 3 work-related fatalities comes second while the Agriculture, forestry & fishing industry has so far lost two workers.

The figures show Electricity, gas, water & waste services, Wholesale trade, Administrative & support services and Information media & telecommunications has each one fatality.
