SA man killed in farming incident

A man in his 70’s is dead following a farming incident in South Australia.

Emergency services were called to a farm in Myponga at about 4.20pm on Thursday after reports of a farming incident.

The man sustained serious injuries after reportedly being struck by a bobcat excavator.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Figures from Safe Work Australia show 21 Australian workers have been killed at work in 2019.

The Agriculture, forestry & fishing industry has recorded the highest number of fatalities, with seven workplace deaths.
