A toddler has died after an incident involving a tractor in regional Victoria.

The two-year-old boy died after being struck by a fertiliser spreader at his family’s dairy farm in Naringal near Warrnambool on Wednesday morning.

It is believed a spreader attachment was being removed from the tractor in a machine shed when the incident occurred, Worksafe Victoria said in a statement.

Police and emergency services were called to the farm about 11am but the boy could not be revived.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Worksafe is investigating the incident.
