A man has been seriously injured after being run over by a grass slasher south of Darwin.
Emergency services were called to a property at Middle Point about 7pm on Saturday.
Details of how the man was run over by the industrial mower are still unclear, Craig Garraway, duty manager at St John Ambulance told ABC News.
“For our paramedics and the people on the scene — there was a number of people on the scene trying to help the male — [it was] quite a traumatic incident as you can imagine for everyone involved,” he said.
“That person will be undergoing intensive treatment overnight at Royal Darwin Hospital and today, hopefully he recovers.”
The man was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition.
NT WorkSafe is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
